This is a Mikoshi. It is a portable shrine important to the shinto religion.

This event takes place during the Sanja Festival where this shrine plays a prominent role.

Lemon has to write her thoughts about the Sanja Festival for her school report. So Ryotsu decides to take her on a tour around the festival.

The information below is not officially confirmed yet so some information is incomplete and everything is subject to change.

Silver Week

Silver week is a special holiday in Japan that only happens under certain specific conditions.

In Japan if there is only 1 non-holiday in between 2 public holidays. That day will be considered a Citizens’ Holiday so people can have that day off too!

There is a rare occurance that only happens every handful of years or so where Autumnal Equinox day happens to fall on the Wednesday after Respect for the Aged day (third Monday of September).

If this happens, Japanese citizens get a Saturday -> Wednesday break from work!

I am not sure if there is anything major planned for Silver week, but we have confirmed a gacha will be held during this period

Goku & Vegeta return, a good chance to get a double tap unit if you don’t have one.

Countdown to 2.5 Year Anniversary

The anniversary for the game is the 28th March. So 6 months later would be the 28th September. It just so happens that the Kochikame event ends on the 28th. So yes it appears we will be celebrating the half anniversary this year.

While we didnt celebrate the 1.5 anniversary, we did celebrate the 6 month anniversary in year 1.

It was more of a campaign than a full event because they didn’t add many characters, but there was a ton of stuff. There’s a list of things from that event below for those who weren’t playing the game back then.

So what do we know about the event itself?

Well we found this background in the files for the login bonus of the event.

It looks like Dr. Stone! Now that you’ve seen the background, you probably also noticed the font of the event logo is just like the font for the Dr. Stone logo!

So Dr. Stone is next then? Well I think we will definitely see some characters from the series in this event, however, this is very clearly not a Feature Festival or Puti Feature, so I don’t think it will be entirely Dr. Stone characters.

The theme of the event as we can see on the event tab button is Great Escape!

I don’t know what that will entail but I’m sure people will have fun discussing and speculating as we wait for more info!

Kochikame Advanced Scout Reports

We have been working hard on the Kochikame Feature Festival which we announced back in February with a special survey asking for fan input.

Part 1 – Design

Here we have presented some early images of two characters; Matoi Giboshi & Neruo Higurashi!

This is the first time this process has really been shown. We are glad to share it with you so you can learn a little bit more about the process.

Matoi Giboshi

Ryotsu and Matoi were once in a relationship, however they later found out they were cousins?!

Policewoman Matoi Giboshi from the Katsushika Police HQ joins Jumputi Heroes!

Neruo Higurashi

Neruo is a highly acclaimed officer from the Katsushika Police Headquarters. He is known as the Olympic-guy because he pretty much sleeps for 4 years at a time, only to come out of his hibernation on the day of the olympics.

In that one day he sets a record number of arrests every time! Olympic-guy Neruo Higurashi joins Jumputi Heroes!

As you can see, we use a lot of reference images. Numerous panels and illustrations are taken from different places to help us express the facial expressions, hair styles and movements from various angles.

The character illustrations are created in this way and gradually we move towards a completed artwork after reviewing and correcting the work many times.

We were able to make many characters for Jumputi in this way, but when making a character that is beloved by the fans of the series, it is very important to do a good job of expressing the character and key characteristics of the character to the absolute maximum extent.

There are a lot of small details that the Jumputi design team always tries their best to capture so make sure to keep an eye out for inclusions of even minute details that you may have missed before!

Part 2 – Color

Now let’s take a look at those same characters in the second phase of development, the “Color” phase!

Matoi Giboshi

In the same way as the design phase, lots of source images need to be referenced in order to try our best to recreate the colours as they appear in the series.

Part 3 – Motion

The character animations are actually created by compiling a large amount of detailed elements into 2 sprite sheets.

The first includes each element of the character so that we can make them move.

The second includes elements for non-standard motion like the Ultimate Attack

The effects and changes in facial expressions when attacking have to be calculated very carefully.

Additionally, adjustments are needed to create animations that match the characters, such as the movements unique to the characters or matching a specific moment from the series.

The most important element that players look forward to is the Ultimate Attack Animation.

So, with great care, we need to make sure they are set to impress!

Now these characters are ready to make their appearance! Look forward to their inclusion in Jumputi Heroes!

Kochikame Feature Festival – Advanced Scout Report #2

Last week, we shared pictures of Matoi Giboshi & Neruo Higurashi from Kochikame. Two of the new units who are being worked on for the Kochikame Feature Festival. These pictures were in the first phase of developement, the “Design” phase.

Today, we continue to work on these characters and we have images of those same characters in the second phase of development, the “Colour” phase!

New Ability – Reversal

With the addition of Giorno, a new ability has been added to the game! This ability will first be implemented with Giorno on his Ultimate Attack.

This ability will inflict more bamage based on the team’s current HP. It is strongest when your HP is lowest. The damage is worked out as 50% (5% in Tower) of the difference between your current HP and your Max HP.

Example

Giorno’s Ultimate Attack (Level 12): Inflict 475% damage to 1 enemy and inflict 50% Reversal damage (5% in Tower)

Situation: When your team’s Max HP is 70,000 and their current HP is 20,000 when you inflict Giorno’s Ultimate Attack

Calculation:

70,000 [Max HP] – 20,000 [Current HP] = 50,000
50,000 / 2 = 25,000

Damage = 25,000

Result: Inflict 475% damage to 1 enemy and inflict an additional 25,000 damage (2,500 in Tower).

Please note, the amount of HP available in Tower is much different to other game modes so that’s why the Reversal damage in Tower is only 5%.

• Reversal damage will stack when popping multiple Skill bubbles
• Reversal damage is unaffected by the effects of other skills and abilities, status changes and type matchup
• In the case of Tower and Unity battle, damage will be based on the final calculated HP of that game mode (eg. after Guild buffs have been applied)
• In Tower, Reversal damage will not go beyond 0 HP in cases when you are overkilled by the opponent
• If Max HP is reduced in cases like Kaien Shiba’s stage, the reduced Max HP number will be used for the calculation
• When HP is Max, Reversal damage will be 1

Kochikame Feature Festival – Advanced Scout Report

“We are currently working hard on the Kochikame Feature Festival which we announced back in February with a special survey asking for fan input.

Today we will present some early images of two characters; Matoi Giboshi & Neruo Higurashi!

Matoi Giboshi

Ryotsu and Matoi were once in a relationship, however they later found out they were cousins?!

Policewoman Matoi Giboshi from the Katsushika Police HQ joins Jumputi Heroes!

Neruo Higurashi

Neruo is a highly acclaimed officer from the Katsushika Police Headquarters. He is known as the Olympic-guy because he pretty much sleeps for 4 years at a time, only to come out of his hibernation on the day of the olympics.

In that one day he sets a record number of arrests every time! Olympic-guy Neruo Higurashi joins Jumputi Heroes!

This is the first time this process has really been shown. We are glad to share it with you so you can learn a little bit more about the process.

As you can see, we use a lot of reference images. Numberous panels and illustrations are taken from different placed to help us express the facial expressions, hair styles and movements from various angles.

The character illustrations are created in this way and gradually we move towards a completed artwork after reviewing and correcting the work many times.

We were able to make many characters for Jumputi in this way, but when making a character that is beloved by the fans of the series, it is very important to do a good job of expressing the character and key characteristics of the character to the absolute maximum extent.

There are a lot of small details that the Jumputi design team always tries their best to capture so make sure to keep an eye out for inclusions of even minute details that you may have missed before!

Next we will add colour to the illustrations of the characters created in this way. From there, we will add movement and bring them to life!

This time we introduced the illustration creation process which is the first step for characters to appear in Jumputi.

We will continue to show the production process of these characters until they participate in Jumputi this Autumn. So please look forward to the next article!”

5M DL Survey Winners

There is a bit of confusion here over who won this survey. It seems like Buso Renkin was one of the highest voted series, along with Boruto and We Never Learn. However, it was announced on stream today that the two “Winners” were Buso Renkin and Psyren!

We were even treated to a preview image of Tokiko Tsumura from Buso Renkin who is among the characters planned to be added from these series!

It is still unclear what content will be added from these 4 series and when it will come but it is in development!

8M DL Survey Winners

The winners of this recent survey will supposedly be announced in the next week or so!

It seems like whichever event comes next will be another feature festival based on the Countdown to Feature festival sale packs. Hard to say for sure which series it will be, but I think the popular opinion is that Jojo Part 5 will be coming next.
